Welcome to Tice Elementary

Tice Elementary School features a beautiful, historic school located near the Caloosahatchee River. Established in 1926, Tice Elementary School serves students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade, life skills, and ESE pre-kindergarten. Tice Elementary School is located in the East Zone of the School District of Lee County.

Mrs. Cherise Trent (Principal) and Mrs. Katie Riemenschneider (Assistant Principal) arrived to Tice Elementary School at the start of the Pandemic. Both have served the district in all levels, including elementary, middle, high school, and in the district offices. Since arriving, Tice Elementary School was recognized for earning 99 Florida Department of Education points toward the school grade!

Mrs. Trent, Principal, has twenty years of experience as a school administrator. Prior to coming to Tice Elementary School, she served as the Principal of Edison Park Creative & Expressive Arts School, turning the school from a state of Florida grade “C” to and “A+ School” and “Florida Arts Model School”. In addition, she has served as a “Principal Lead” for the School District of Lee County, mentoring principals throughout the district. She has also been the District Coordinator of the Beginning Teacher and Certification Programs (APPLES), District Coordinator for the Fine and Performing Arts, Assistant Principal of Dunbar High School and Principal of Dunbar Middle School.

Assistant Principal, Mrs. Katie Riemenschneider, came to Tice with Mrs. Trent via Edison Park Creative & Expressive Arts School. Mrs. Riemenschneider has served as an International Baccalaureate Coordinator for more than a decade and was a Florida Executive Board member of IB Schools and Board Member of the Florida IB Schools Grants Committee. She is a member of the Florida LEAD Network and has been selected as a Florida District Teacher of the Year, recipient of the Florida Governor’s Shine Award and the Florida Power of Excellence Award for outstanding contributions to the field of education.

Mrs. Trent and Mrs. Riemenschneider have recently been recognized by the Florida Department of Education and selected to participate in the inaugural Florida Collaborative Leaders for All Students’ Success Program.

Along with the staff, they are committed to creating a tradition of excellence at Tice Elementary School by forming strong relationships and focusing on academics. Two themes that guide us at Tice are:

· “Tice Together” because we know we can accomplish great things when we work together!

· “Hustle & Heart Will Set Us Apart!” because we believe in working hard, but with a lot of heart. With kindness, joy, and hustle…we can accomplish anything
